Jessica Chappell shares freshwater knowledge with teachers during summer internship

ICON & Ecology PhD candidate Jessica Chappell reports back from a summer service internship experience:
“I had the opportunity to participate in a 1 week internship with the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute (TNACI) last week in Chattanooga, TN. The internship was targeting graduate students who work in freshwater ecology. As an intern, I worked with middle and high school science teachers who were attending TNACI for a week long workshop on how to integrate more freshwater-focused lesson plans into their classrooms. I served as a resource in terms of providing insight on current research projects and novel techniques.”
